Mailboxes
In Central Park, mail is delivered to cluster box units (CBU) located on the corners of most blocks. These CBUs contain multiple unit lockers where owners receive their mail. Each property is assigned an individual unit locker in a respective CBU, which is identified with a number. The owner receives keys to their designated unit locker at closing. The CBUs also contain parcel lockers that are utilized for packages. Each CBU has an outgoing mail slot which is collected daily by the United States Postal Service (USPS).
All CBUs are regulated by the USPS and federal postal regulations. Federal regulation requires that all CBUs are accessed by a single master key maintained by the USPS. The MCA is responsible for maintaining the CBUs consistent with federal regulations. The MCA has no control over the master key system; only the USPS is authorized to modify the outgoing mailbox keys.
CBU maintenance is a shared responsibility between the USPS and the MCA.
The MCA will repair and replace broken and damaged CBUs.
Owners maintain the keys to their respective unit locker and must transfer them to a new owner at closing.
The USPS oversees the master key system and is the only entity authorized to make modifications to the master locks.
Use the Mailbox Service Request Form to report all mailbox damage and service needs.

The MCA works hard to be responsive to Mailbox Service Requests; please allow a minimum of two weeks after any submission for resolution. Depending on the scope of work, repairs may take longer. When the MCA is conducting repairs, we will place a hold on the mail service to the respective box. During these holds, mail will be held for pickup at the USPS Montbello Station. After repairs are complete new keys will need to be collected by the owner. Please visit the MCA’s office at 8371 Northfield Blvd. Denver, CO 80238, to pick up your new keys. Be sure to bring a photo ID. If contact information is provided to the MCA, we will notify you by email that the keys are ready for pick up.
Thieves want your mail, that is why it is vital that you do not leave mail in your mailbox overnight. You may consider signing up for informed delivery, a free service that tells you when your mail has been delivered, more information at https://www.usps.com/manage/informed-delivery. The United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) is the federal law enforcement agency that investigates mail crime. They need your help to investigate criminal acts involving the mail. Be sure to report all mail theft and mail-related crime to the USPIS for investigation.
