Join us at The Cube for an engaging screening of the 2023 film Origin, hosted by the esteemed Vincent Piturro. Origin explores the hidden structures of social inequality through the lens of interconnected human stories. Inspired by Isabel Wilkerson's book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents, the film weaves together personal narratives and historical events to shed light on the invisible hierarchy that shapes our society. It’s a powerful reflection on the forces that impact us all, offering a deeper understanding of resilience, identity, and the human spirit. We encourage to stay for a thoughtful discussion following the screening.
After the screening, attendees are invited to join a post-film discussion moderated by multiple award-winning journalist Chandra Thomas Whitfield, co-host of Colorado Matters, the daily public affairs show on Colorado Public Radio.
With over two decades of journalism experience, Whitfield has dedicated her career to addressing critical social issues and amplifying underrepresented voices. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Essence, The Huffington Post, and NBC News.
Presented in partnership with The College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at MSU Denver.
Tickets include a free popcorn and one drink of choice.
